About Kelly

Kelly has over 35 years of behavior and training experience including working with shelter and rescue organizations, in the Veterinary field, commercial livestock production and with exotic animals including marine mammals. If she can teach a walrus how to squirt people with a mouthful of water or a dolphin to touch her open palm with their rostrum she can help you with your dog.

Her unique ability to connect with her human students allows her to shape the learning process in ways that make learning and training fun for both ends of the leash. When you have fun, you're more likely to spend time with your dog, which means better training results!

Kelly believes in the importance of continuing education and regularly attends conferences, seminars, and workshops including studying under Suzanne Clothier and Suzanne's Relationship Centered Training™ approach. As Suzanne say’s we must first "See the Dog" and meet them where they are at before learning can occur.

Kelly's commitment to increasing her knowledge base and keeping up with current research and behavior studies, allows her to offer you the best options to develop the lovely family pet you are looking for. Both you and your dog will feel safe, welcome and heard in classes and working one on one.

Kelly is a member of the Association for Professional Dog Training International - APDT, an Accredited Dog Trainer with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants - IAABC-ADT, a Professional Dog Trainer with the Pet Professional Guild - PPG-PDT and a Certified Fear Free Professional.

She is affiliated with the American Kennel Club as a Canine Good Citizen, Temperament Test and Trick Dog Evaluator, a STAR Puppy and FIT DOG Instructor and is a Judge for Farm Dog and FETCH events.

When Kelly isn't working with clients she spends her time competing with her own dogs. She is proud of her Owner-Handled Champion and Grand Champion Saint Bernards. Her dogs have qualified for the AKC National Owner Handled Finals and TOP 20 Saint Bernard recognition with the Saint Bernard Club of America National Speciality. She and her Saints are actively involved in carting, rally obedience and therapy work.
